We had a wonderful first week back from February vacation! All the children seem quite refreshed and ready to be reunited with one another.
Below are the just a few of the centers the preschoolers participated in:
Colored Rice Sensory Table (SENSORY): Observes and explores materials, objects and colors.
Letter Stamps (ART/WRITING): Performs fine-motor tasks that require small-muscle control and strength. Recognizes and names letters in name.
OWL story: Dog’s Colorful Day, written and illustrated by: Emily Dodd.
Looking forward to the week of 3/5:
This upcoming week we will be working on our last week of OWL Unit 4: A World of Color. Our centers will be:
Sculptures (ART): Creates three-dimensional artwork. Approaches tasks with inventiveness.
Post Office (DRAMATIC PLAY): Becomes aware of the roles, responsibilities, and services provided by community workers. Uses language while participating in dramatic play.
Letter & Postcard Supplies (WRITING): Writes for many purposes. Uses writing in the context of dramatic play. Composes or dictates messages.
Shape Sorting (SENSORY/MATH): Sorts and categorizes shapes by defining attributes.
On the week of 3/12, we will be starting Second Step Child Protection Unit. Our first Weekly Theme is "Ways to Stay Safe."
I hope you had a lovely weekend. You will find photographs below from the last few weeks. The weeks prior to vacation we focused on preparing for our classroom Valentine's Day as well as participating in Ash Wednesday. Apologies for the delay!
