We had a wonderful first week back from February vacation! All the children seem quite refreshed and ready to be reunited with one another.
Below are the just a few of the centers the preschoolers participated in:
Colored Rice Sensory Table (SENSORY): Observes and explores materials, objects and colors.
Letter Stamps (ART/WRITING): Performs fine-motor tasks that require small-muscle control and strength. Recognizes and names letters in name.

This upcoming week we will be working on our last week of OWL Unit 4: A World of Color. Our centers will be:
Sculptures (ART): Creates three-dimensional artwork. Approaches tasks with inventiveness.
Post Office (DRAMATIC PLAY): Becomes aware of the roles, responsibilities, and services provided by community workers. Uses language while participating in dramatic play.
Letter & Postcard Supplies (WRITING): Writes for many purposes. Uses writing in the context of dramatic play. Composes or dictates messages.
Shape Sorting (SENSORY/MATH): Sorts and categorizes shapes by defining attributes.
On the week of 3/12, we will be starting Second Step Child Protection Unit. Our first Weekly Theme is "Ways to Stay Safe."

Week of 1/22-2/2
Welcome K1 Families,
K1 school hours are 8:15-2:15
The first day of school for K1 is Thursday, September 7th.
*The first two days of school are early dismissal days. All K1 children will be dismissed at 11:30 on September 7th and September 8th. There will be no extended day for K1 on September 7th or September 8th.
Be sure to label all clothing items with your child’s name.
The following is a list of classroom supplies the children will need to have. You may bring the classroom supplies into school anytime during the first week of school. Please have all art supplies packed in the school box we are asking you to bring.
K1 School Supply List
1 marble composition notebook-wide ruled
1, 2 pocket folder
1 school box-5x8x2-plastic-Sterilite (packed with crayons, markers, colored pencils, glue sticks and scissors). Please label the box with your child’s name.

Colored Pencils-8 ct.
Crayons-Crayola-large crayons 8 ct.
1 bottle of Elmer’s Washable School Glue-4 oz.
1 Pkg. Elmer’s Washable Glue Sticks-Purple- 8 Pack (put one/two glue sticks in box) send in the extra and we will add as needed.
Crayola Washable Markers-Classic 8 ct. - Thick
1 pair of Fiskar Kids 5 inch blunt scissors
Please label box, notebook and backpack with your child’s name. We will be sending a request out for cleaning supplies and copy paper after the first week of school. Due to limited storage we will we will only be asking half of the class to bring these items in during September. We will reach out to the remaining families as our supplies are needed.

Wednesday 5/17- Tag Day
Thursday 5/18: Spring Show - The correct time of the evening show is 6:00PM NOT 6:30. We will have two shows, one at 1:00 and one at 6:00. We will be wearing yellow clothing.

Tuesday, May 2nd we are having our school spring photos taken (if you are interested, not mandatory). If you would like to have your child photographed please return the order form that was sent home with payment by next Tuesday. No uniform for these pictures.
Thursday, May 4th is Grandparents/Special Friend Day. We will go to mass at St. Brigid’s as a class at 9:00 and then our grandparents or special friends are invited to join us in the classroom for some fun from 10:00-11:00am.
